چکیده
The development of contrast ventriculography is outlined and an experience with 40 meglumine iothalamate ventriculograms in 37 patients is described. The details of the procedure, hazards, value, and indications are discussed.

Cisternal myelography using Conray.
Conray-280 (meglumine iothalamate) can be injected safely into the cisterna magna in the human. In this series of 46 patients no complications were encountered attributable to the irritant effects of Conray. Satisfactory radiographic visualization was obtained in 87% of cases using 5 ml. 50% solution of Conray-280 enabling clear delineation of the anterior and posterior borders of the spinal co...

The vasoactive effect of the angiographic contrast medium Conray-60 (iothalamate meglumine 60%) on carotid blood flow was studied by the video dilution technique in 26 subjects during routine neuroangiography. After a test series of 1 ml injections of contrast material into the carotid arteries at designated time intervals, an increase in carotid blood flow was found in normal controls at 30 se...
متن کاملBrain parenchyma penetration by intrathecal ionic and nonionic contrast media.
Metrizamide, a nonionic water-soluble contrast medium, has been shown to penetrate normal brain when injected intrathecally. Recently it was suggested that the complications following intrathecal metrizamide are directly related to the cerebral concentration reached. Metrizamide, both in experimental animals and clinically, is regarded as less neurotoxic than equivalent iodine concentrations of...
متن کاملSafety of contrast media in cerebral angiography: iopamidol vs. methylglucamine iothalamate.
A randomized double-blind study was performed in 27 patients to compare the clinical safety, incidence of pain and warmth, and film quality produced by iopamidol and Conray-60 in selective cerebral angiography. No complications or adverse reactions occurred in either group. Iopamidol was significantly less painful than was methylglucamine iothalamate for common carotid artery injections and cau...
